If you are visiting the Rockhampton Region do not miss the chance to paddle beautiful Waterpark Creek in the Byfield National Park north of Yeppoon. 3 Fitzroy Canoe Club members recently paddled from the causeway crossing at Waterpark Creek to the waterfall/rapids 5 km up the creek and return.
It is a freshwater paddle which has a few tightspots around fallen trees etc but nothing of great difficulty. A pleasant breakfast/lunch/dinner can then be had at local venues.
